Aeronext Inc.’s (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Keisuke Toji, hereinafter referred to as Aeronext, the next-generation drone company, subsidiary, 天次科技(深圳)有限公司 (Aeronext Shenzhen Ltd.), has been selected as one of the eight strategic emerging industry companies in the Nanshan District Intellectual Property Rights Alliance of Shenzhen City (Intellectual Property Alliance) in FY2019 and the company will be a director member.

The election of Aeronext comes from Aeronext’s Intellectual Property Management Award and being ranked 3rd overall in the business pitch contest “Nanshan Entrepreneurship Star Contest” sponsored by Nanshan District in 2018. It was decided at the 1st annual convention of the Intellectual Property Alliance (Intellectual Property Alliance) consisting of companies in Nanshan District, organized by the People’s Government of Nanshan District, Shenzhen on November 11-12, 2019.

The number of international patent (PCT) applications in Shenzhen City was 18,000 in FY2018, accounting for 34.8% of the total China, and ranked first in the country for 15 consecutive years. Nanshan District is the administrative district where the largest number of high-tech enterprises are concentrated in Shenzhen City, and there are multiple R&D centers for global companies. In Nanshan the number of PCT applications in 2018 was 7,055, which is about 39% of the total in Shenzhen. In addition, according to the “Nanshan District Development of Intellectual Property Rights in Shenzhen” announced at the annual meeting, the number of patents in the drone industry is the highest in each administrative level, Guangdong Province, Shenzhen City, and Nanshan District. In recent years, the district has been making efforts to become China’s best intellectual property district. In 2017, it established the Nanshan District Intellectual Property Protection Center for strengthening the creation of systems for the protection and operation of goods. There are 25 board members / organizations selected, including IP-related service companies, law firms, appraisal institutions, financial services companies, and within this grouping of strategic start-up industry companies, Aeronext was selected.
