Aeronext and NPO TMS net sign collaboration agreement to build logistics infrastructure necessary for the medical and welfare sectors and for the region’s continued viability

Aeronext Inc. (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Keisuke Toji, hereinafter “Aeronext”) and NPO TMS net (Toyooka City, Hyogo Prefecture, Representative Director: Yoshiyuki Chiba, hereinafter TMS) concluded a collaboration agreement on February 21, 2024 with the aim of building a new logistics infrastructure necessary for the viability of the medical and welfare sectors and the region by utilizing next-generation advanced technologies, including drones, to address regional issues in the mountainous regions of Japan.
Aeronext has established NEXT DELIVERY, a strategic subsidiary, to implement new smart logistics SkyHub®︎*2 that utilizes drones equipped with its proprietary patented 4D GRAVITY®*1 technology dedicated to logistics and is proactively working on societal implementation and commercialization of drone delivery services in order to improve efficiency of regional logistics and address regional issues throughout Japan. Aeronext has already entered the implementation phase in nine municipalities across Japan. In January of this year, Aeronext also carried out drone transportation of medical supplies such as prescription medicines to isolated areas in the Noto Peninsula earthquake-stricken area.
TMS was established for the purpose of establishing a comprehensive and continuous provision system of medical and welfare services through strong cooperation among medical, nursing, welfare, administrative and other related organizations, and to create an environment in which appropriate services are provided efficiently and without interruption, so that residents can continue to live in Tajima with peace of mind. TMS is engaged in a variety of activities such as medical care, welfare, and urban development activities including other services. TMS also pursues activities not only in the Tajima area, but also in cooperation with other organizations throughout the country.
Through this agreement, the two parties will mutually cooperate to build a new logistics infrastructure that will contribute to the enhancement and development of medical, welfare and other services, thereby helping to address regional issues for the viability of the region.

We are truly pleased that through this collaboration agreement with TMS, we will be able to work together to build a new social infrastructure that will support the medical and welfare issues faced by local communities from a logistics perspective. We would like to solidify the delivery network of medicines using drones, through remote unmanned on-demand delivery technology, in the mountainous regions of the country.

<Comments from Yoshiyuki Chiba, Representative Director, NPO TMS net>
NPO TMS net, has been working to address regional issues centering on medical care and welfare with the philosophy of creating a Tajima region where people can continue to live with peace of mind. We are very pleased to take a major step forward in developing a logistics infrastructure that supports local medical care, welfare, and daily life through this agreement with Aeronext. Also, we are determined to work together with Aeronext to make sure that our efforts in the Tajima region will be a source of hope for other regions facing similar challenges. We hope that this drone-based initiative will be extended not only to the Tajima region but also to the rest of Japan, contributing to the fulfillment and development of various services that will lead to the viability of each region.

*1 Airframe structural design technology 4D GRAVITY®

Airframe structure design technology developed by Aeronext optimizes aerodynamic characteristics by equalizing motor speed regardless of attitude, condition, or movement during flight and controlling lift, drag, and fuselage center of gravity based on fuselage shape and structure to improve the basic performance of industrial drones, such as stability, efficiency, and mobility, and the transportation performance of drones dedicated to logistics. Aeronext has patented this technology and manages it as part of the 4D GRAVITY® patent portfolio. 4D GRAVITY® improves basic performance and opens up new markets and applications for industrial drones.

*2 New Logistics SkyHub®︎

A new smart logistics platform jointly developed and deployed by Aeronext and Seino HD that connects existing logistics and drone logistics, as well as connecting ground and air infrastructure to deliver goods anytime, anywhere. SkyHub®︎ is an open and standardized that incorporates drone delivery, and on this platform, based on the Drone Depot®︎, we will develop and provide services tailored to local issues and needs, such as SkyHub® application-based delivery service, on-demand delivery, pharmaceutical delivery, and joint delivery of packages from different logistics companies in one package.

The introduction of SkyHub® not only has the logistics benefits of promoting unmanned and inventory-free operations and improving last mile delivery efficiency, but also introduces a new logistics infrastructure. SkyHub® will contribute to solving social issues in the region, such as transportation problems in specific depopulated areas, medical problems, disaster countermeasures, and measures for the vulnerable in logistics, SkyHub® will also contribute to address regional issues such as traffic problems in specific depopulated areas, medical problems, disaster countermeasures, and measures for the vulnerable in logistics, as well as raise the level of satisfaction of residents and communities by improving convenience and quality of life.
